This place has hosted the birth of many children, wedding, anniversary and holiday celebration and even some wake and funeral services all punctuated with the best Italian food in Poughkeepsie’s Little Italy from Nonny Balassone’s kitchen. Besides being the family home and haven, 109 in its early years, served as a place for Italian immigrants to stay while looking to establish a new life in our community.
The present location of the Gallery has had many previous faces, from corner store to the well
known and loved coffee shop “Balassone’s Luncheonette” run by Marie and Joseph Balassone and their family.
So with that continued tradition of hospitality I welcome you to the Gallery.
